Crunchy Baked Chickpeas

When you're studying or working, there's always that moment when you start to get hungry and eat the first junk food you find in the kitchen. After a while, I got tired of eating snacks that were packaged and unhealthy! Because of this, I decided to create my own healthy version of a simple yet super tasty snack.

The star of this recipe is chickpeas, as a rich source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber, chickpeas may offer a variety of health benefits, such as aiding weight management, improving digestion, and reducing your risk of disease. Additionally, this legume is high in protein and makes an excellent replacement for meat in many vegetarian and vegan dishes.

This recipe will make you enjoy chickpeas in a way you've never experienced before. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside!


- 2 Cans of pre-cooked chickpeas (400 g)

- 1 Heaped tablespoon of flour

- 1 Generous teaspoon of salt

- 1 Large teaspoon of sweet paprika (or favorite spices)

- Pepper as needed

- 1 Tablespoon of chickpea flour

- Rosemary (as much as you want)

- 3-4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil


Preheat the oven to 200° on the fan setting and lightly grease a nonstick skillet. First, peel the chickpeas from their skins (this is an important step to follow). Rinse the chickpeas and dry them well with paper towels. (This is important because you need to prevent moisture from slowing down the crispy cooking). Put them in a bowl, add the paprika, a pinch of pepper, salt, and your favorite spices. Along with the spices, add a tablespoon of chickpea flour to add extra flavor. Then spread them out in a single layer on the pan (don't put baking paper), and then spread the oil over them, stir. Bake for 30 minutes, and chickpeas about halfway through cooking. For the last 3-4 minutes, turn on the grill (an option of the over to make everything crispier).

Enjoy and have fun snacking!


These are great warm but will keep well for up to 3-4 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
